SIMON HART MP TAKES ON TOUR DE CYMRU FOR INCLUSIVE SPORT
Simon Hart MP has joined a group of keen Welsh cyclists taking on an epic 320 mile journey across Wales. The ‘Tour de Cymru’ is a 4-day cycling challenge, raising money for disabled people to access sport in Wales.
For the second year in a row, charity Leonard Cheshire organised the unique event that took participants from Anglesey in the North to Swansea in the South. The route took in inclusive sports facilities throughout Wales.
Simon Hart joined the cyclists at Carmarthen’s newly refurbished velodrome.
Mr Hart said: “The money raised from the Tour will be used to support disabled people who use Leonard Cheshire’s services in Wales to have access to adapted sports and physiotherapy equipment, as well as helping disabled people gain access to sporting events in the local area.
“This could range from wheelchair dancing, bowling, archery or horse-riding, to something as simple as supporting disabled people to see their favourite team play live.”
