CAMPAIGN FOR BETTER SIGNAGE BEARS FRUIT FOR SIMON HART MP

TWO-YEAR campaign to improve signage at the entrance to a busy Narberth enterprise park looks like bearing fruit for Simon Hart MP.

Mr Hart first contacted Pembrokeshire County Council in July 2017 to ask them to improve the signage at the entrance to the Rushacre Enterprise Park.

However he was told by the Highways Department that the small sign opposite the turning was all that the council was willing to put up.

When Royal Mail moved their busy Narberth Sorting Office from Spring Gardens to the park, the issue reared its head once again.

“We were being contacted by Narberth residents who couldn’t find the new Sorting Office”, explains Mr Hart.  “The signs are clearly not adequate for such a busy park.  I contacted Royal Mail and they agreed to contribute to the cost of any new sign”.

Mr Hart is pictured meeting David Popplewell from the council’s planning department and estate owner Gwyn James on site to discuss the problem once again.

“I was pleased to hear that the council is looking again at this issue, and has agreed to work with Royal Mail and other businesses on the estate to find a solution” said Mr Hart.

“With a large directory sign the preferred option to replace the many temporary signs all over the fence, customers will find it much easier to find businesses and the appearance of the estate will be improved considerably”.
